This is a beautifully handcarved wooden mask of Bhairab. This mask has been beautifully carved by our artisan from Changu Narayan. The mask has been made with great detail and has been painted in Blue Color by our artisan.
Bhairab is the protector. It is said that Bhairab is the manifesation of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. From the Heart of Arya Avalokitesvhara emerged a dark blue Hung letter, which transformed into the Instantaneous Protector of wisdom. Buddha Amitabha proclaimed thus. ”Som of the family, you shall have the strength of the wrathful Yama, Lord of death. You shall embody the great wrathful empowerments of body, speech, mind, qualities and activities of all the Buddhas throughout the three times”. Ever Since Bhairab has remained as the doctrine Protector of all the Buddha fields.
