Vertical prayer flags are tied to a flagstaff or an ordinary pole. The flag is supposed to be tied securely with the help of thread that is attached to this prayer flag.
The Tibetan word for prayer flag is “Lung ta”, meaning, “wind Horse”. When wind blows (expressing the quality and nature of mind) the sacred prayer flag flaps in the breeze.
